The purpose of the Filipino American Community Action Group (FILAM CAG) Leadership Awards is:

1. To Recognize Excellence: Celebrate the achievements and contributions of Filipino American leaders in various fields and endeavors. This recognition serves to acknowledge their hard work, dedication, and impact on the community.

2. To Inspire Involvement: By highlighting the successes of prominent leaders, these awards aim to inspire others in the Filipino American community to engage in community service, leadership roles, and other initiatives that contribute positively to society.

3. To Foster Community Pride: The awards bring to the forefront the accomplishments of Filipino Americans, fostering a sense of pride and unity within the community. This helps in strengthening the community’s identity and cohesion.

4. To Create Role Models: By showcasing the stories of successful leaders, the awards provide role models for young Filipino Americans, encouraging them to aspire to similar heights of achievement and community engagement.

5. To Enhance Visibility: The awards increase the visibility of the contributions of Filipino Americans to the wider society, promoting greater awareness and appreciation of their roles in various sectors.

6. To Encourage Continuous Excellence: The awards set a benchmark for excellence, encouraging both current and future leaders to strive for high standards in their contributions to the community and beyond.

CRITERIA

1. Must be of Filipino descent and currently residing in the state of Virginia.
 Filipino American movers and Shakers. Age 55 and under. Except when nominating a business, no age limit on businesses. 

 2. Must be involved in a leadership role at their workplace or within a community service organization.


 3. Must demonstrate a commitment to excellence and have a proven track record of successful leadership initiatives through a combination of hard work, innovation, and dedication.

 4. Must possess a strong commitment to the Filipino American community and be an advocate for the advancement of the community.


 5. Must have a history of service to their peers and colleagues, as well as the community at large.


 6. Must be actively involved in the Filipino American community and have a passion for inspiring others through their work.

7. Must be able to attend the Awards Gala.

The Leadership Awards Committee of the Filipino American Community Action Group (FILAM CAG) reserves the exclusive right to make final decisions regarding all award categories. This includes the authority to modify or discontinue any category as deemed appropriate based on their discretion.
